Resorts in Bohol: La Veranda Beach Resort, Bar, and Restaurant

Bohol is known to be popular among tourists in Central Philippines. As such, hotels and resorts seem to be a good business. While Panglao town is the more popular destination in Bohol's Panglao Island, the quieter and lesser known town of Dauis is not without it's share of attractions, restaurants, and lodging places. I was able to come across one resort in the area when I was scouting for hotel rooms for a client from Laguna.

Amenities

Rooms

La Veranda has 1 dormitory room, 8 deluxe rooms, 6 cottage rooms, and 2 family rooms. The maximum capacity of the rooms are 15 persons for the dormitory, 4 persons for the deluxe rooms, and 6 persons for both the cottage rooms, and family rooms.

Bar and Restaurant

In my own honest personal opinion, Restorante de Amore's Chef Dodong is the one best asset of La Veranda Beach Resort, Bar, & Restaurant. Based on personal experience, the dishes I will recommend are Bohol Express, Seafood Rice, and Lechon Kawali. It was a pity I was not able to order their signature house dishes as these were not available when I stayed at the resort. Oh how I wonder how their paella tastes like.

The seafood rice is actually a steal. Selling at PHP 150, it is a platter of fried white rice mixed with a variety of seafood: crab, shrimps, fish, and squid.

Bohol Express is a take on Bicol Express, only less spicy. The dish is also mixed with seafoods instead of pork. The dish also sells at PHP 150 and can feed 2-3 people.

Swimming Pool

La Veranda has a rectangular swimming pool that ranges in depth from 3 feet to 7 feet.

Beach

La Veranda Beach Resort will not boast of white sand shorelines. Instead, the rocky coast is a good spot for snorkeling as the coast is abundant with corals. The locale is also close to the famed Bikini Beach of Biking, the most recommended snorkeling spot in Dauis town.
