Calea is a very popular cake shop in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, Philippines. People say that when visiting Bacolod City, this is one place one cannot miss. So when we went to Bacolod City for a business trip in May 2016, miss it we did not. I was with Natnat and Nicolo as we were on our way to Himamaylan City to facilitate a team building program.
Calea Pastries and Coffee is operated by Rosario Ma. de la Rama-Consing as their receipt indicates. It is located at Doors G1-4 Balay Quince Compound, 15th Lacson Street, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, Philippines.
Since it is a pastry shop, you will be spoiled for choices as to what to have at Calea. There were only three of us so that meant we can't have just about everything. So we went with their specialties and best sellers as well as what looked good to us. Here are the four kinds of cakes we ordered at Calea:
Imported Chocolate Cake
When we asked the lady behind the counter for suggestions, she readily suggested we have the imported chocolate cake. She says it is their best seller. This costs PhP 95 per slice.

Pecan Pie A La Mode
Anyone who knows me well knows that I am a sucker for anything with nuts. When I saw something behind the shelf adorned with nuts, I immediately ordered it. And it came with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream on it! This slice sold for PhP 110.

Choco Mud Pie
People who love ice cream cakes will love the choco mud pie at Calea. Among all the other orders we placed, this was our unanimous favorite. PhP 100 for a slice.

Pecan Caramel Cheesecake
A friend of mine from Cebu also mentioned some time ago that the cheesecakes at Calea were also good. Since I'm more of a nut person and we loved the pecan pie a la mode, we ordered an extra slice of pecan caramel cheesecake as we were munching on the first three cakes we ordered. PhP 90 for a slice. This wasn't bad, but it's the least that we liked. I did hear the blueberry cheesecake at this place rocks.
