World War II Veterans Memorial in Dauis, Bohol, Philippines

Right outside the town hall in Dauis town on Bohol province's Panglao Island is a memorial to the brave men and women of the town who fought against the Japanese invaders in World War II.














World War II Veterans Memorial 

Constructed between 2007 and 2010, the monument was built by the joint efforts of the municipal government of Dauis and the Dauis Veterans Post - Veterans Federation of the Philippines. 

The monument has a base or pedestal of about six (6) feet. Standing on the platform were three life-sized figures: an American officer flanked by a Filipino soldier and a Filipino guerilla.

On the front side of the base was a plaque with a dedication that reads: "This monument is dedicated to all men and women who have sacrificed and given up their lives to protect and preserve freedom and democracy for our country." It then lists 136 names of World War II veterans from Dauis, Bohol, Philippines.

This World War II Veterans Memorial in Dauis, Bohol, Philippines can be found right after the crossing the Borja Bridge from Tagbilaran City in mainland Bohol to Panglao Island. It is right outside the municipal hall and is around the vicinity of the Our Lady of Assumption Church, the town plaza, the Handumanan Souvenir Shop, Cafe Lawis, Terraza de Mariveles, and the watchtower.
