White Beach: My New Favorite Spot in Panglao

When people talk about the beach in Panglao, a large majority refers to Alona Beach in barangay Tawala. Unknown to many, there is a long stretch of real fine grain white sand beach in barangay Bolod. This stretch of beach is called White Beach and hosts a few resort such as the public and private beach resorts of the Dumaluan Beach Resort, Bolod Beach Resort, Bohol Beach Club, Paragayo Resort, South Palms Resort Panglao, Bagobo Beach Resort, Amarela Resort, La Pernela Beachfront Resort, and Libaong Beach Resort.

In a recent business trip to Bohol, I happened to stay at the private resort of Dumaluan Beach Resort along White Beach. It is a relatively quiet beach resort where one can really enjoy basking in the sun, bathing in the cool blue waters and enjoy the gentle waves of the sea, or just bum around at the fine grain white sand mixed with some crushed corals.

4 Reasons I Like White Beach

Below is a list of my 4 reasons why I like White Beach in Bolod, Panglao:

1. White Beach is Not Too Congested

Compared to Alona Beach in Tawala, Panglao, White Beach is a lot less crowded in terms of business establishments and the number of people enjoying the beach.

2. The White Beach Sand is Simply Awesome

The sand cover at White Beach is a mixture of fine grain sand, crushed shells, and crushed corals. When walking barefoot, the sand feels ticklish to the feet and never painful to walk on.

3. It's Very Close to Pamilacan Island

From Bolod, the outline of Baclayon town's Pamilacan Island can be clearly seen on a good weather day. Although it will take one hour to get to the island from White Beach, that is the closest one could ever get from any other point in Bohol province. It's about the same amount of time it will take to travel from Baclayon in mainland Bohol to Pamilacan Island.

4. The Water is Just Amazing

The crystal clear waters at White Beach is something I could not simply resist. It was just way too inviting. It is so clean, I wanted to soak myself right away upon arriving at the resort. So far, no other beach in Panglao can rival the water quality here, at least from my experience.
