Breakfast at Salamandas in San Juan, Siquijor, Philippines

Nothing beats having breakfast with the beautiful scenic beauty of the beach in the horizon, the music of the sea meeting the shore, feeling the gentle sea breeze, listening to dove coos and other sounds from nature. Add to that some great company. For two days at the tail end of October 2015, this was how I spent my breakfast at the Salamandas Restaurant at Coco Grove Beach and Dive Resort in Tubod, San Juan, Siquijor, Philippines.

Complimentary Breakfast

When staying at Coco Grove Beach and Dive Resort, breakfast is complimentary and they are served at the Salamandas Restaurant. You can either choose to have it served at the restaurant's main dining area or one can also request to stay at the little cottages around the restaurant. One can choose to have American or Continental breakfast or any of the Filipino favorite meals such as longganiza, beef tapa, tocino, fish fillet, and corned beef. Eggs can be scrambled or sunny side up, a choice of coffee or tea, juices are apple, calamansi, orange, or pineapple, and fruits are watermelon, banana, mango, or pineapple.

On 29 October, I had fish fillet, calamansi juice, black coffee, and banana for breakfast while the rest of my friends had beef tapa as their main meal.

On 30 October, I had tocino for my main meal while others had longganiza. I also had green tea with jasmine, orange juice, and a few slices of pineapple.

I happen to also see some crepes served to other guests. Oh, how I love crepes. Maybe next time I'm here I'll try some. The burgers are good here too. I tried them when I last visited June of this year. We also had some pizza that time. The meals I had at Salamandas were all filling and I look forward to dining there again when I stay at Coco Grove in the future.
