Value Meals at Orchid Bar and Restaurant in Daanbantayan, Cebu, Philippines

This past weekend, I had some quiet time at Virgin Beach Resort in Daanbantayan, Cebu, Philippines with my buddy Nathaniel. The resort's food and beverage service is through the Orchid Bar and Restaurant located at the Orchid Hotel building where the hotel's front office is also located. Back in 2007, this was where I had a really good French toast for breakfast. I kind of miss that. We were to stay for a night at the resort this time and will have at least three (3) meals: dinner on the 12th of March and breakfast and lunch on 13 March. All our meals were value meals that cost PhP 100 per order. In between meals, we ordered a pitcher of rhum cola (PhP 150), pancakes (PhP 80), iced tea (PhP 35), and coffee (PhP 50).

Dinner

Our first meal was dinner on 12 March and we each had a serving of atchara (pickled papaya), fried chicken wings, a cup of rice, fruit salad for dessert, and a glass of iced tea as beverage.

Breakfast

Breakfast on 13 March saw us enjoy some dried fish, scrambled eggs, a cup of rice, fruit salad, and iced tea. In between breakfast and lunch on this day, we also ordered some pancakes at a cost of PhP 80 per order. We spread some butter and maple-flavored syrup on it and enjoyed. Nathaniel wanted to have some brewed coffee but unfortunately the power was out the whole morning and he had to settle for some instant coffee while I had my usual drink of iced tea. Normally, the Filipino breakfast costs PhP 125 with a choice of ham, bcon, sausage, corned beef, or dried fish.

Lunch

Before we checked out of Virgin Beach Resort, we had a lunch consisting of daing na bangus (milkfish), a cup of rice, atchara, and a glass of iced tea.
