Gustus is Latin for taste. A restaurant in Tagbilaran City is aptly named
Gustus. During the
Seas The Day Bohol Tour I took part in with my blogger friends from #CBCTravelNation, we had one of our dinners here. Tired from an afternoon of fun with sea kayaks at
Dumaluan Beach Resort 1, we headed right to
Gustus along M. Torralba Street, Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines. It's a fairly new restaurant that opened last 29 July 2015. The concept was of Chef DJ Dejaresco, a quite shy fellow who earned his diploma in culinary arts at the
International School for Culinary Arts and Hotel Management (ISCAHM) in Quezon City, Philippines.
Dining With Much Gusto at Gustus Restaurant
Upon arrival at
Gustus Restaurant, the bloggers took their time taking pictures of the place, the interior of which was designed like a ship's mess hall.
Gustus serves mostly Filipino cuisine and some western dishes. We knew we were in for an experience the time we were served some welcome drinks of calamansi juice with crushed mint leaves and watermelon juice with basil.
For starters, we were served buffalo wings and fries and Asian wings with fries. We devoured those buffalo wings in no time.
For our rice platters, we had bagoong rice and adobo rice.

Some of the bloggers were pescatarians and had Cajun shrimps in a bag for their entree.
The rest of us had pork crispy pata, sizzling bulalo, and sizzling sisig. I particularly enjoyed the crispy pata and sizzling bulalo. The gravy on the sizzling bulalo really gives that dish its kick.
