Texas Pork Ribs at Sun Café

Lunch for 29 February 2016 was at Sun Café along Celestino Gallares Street in Tagbilaran City, Bohol. Sun Café is attached to the Sun Avenue Tourist Inn as its food and beverage service partner provider. The café do not only serve hotel guests as walk-ins are also welcome. It's a cozy air conditioned cafe, not too big but not too small either.

After munching on mostly breads and pastries for breakfast, I'm pretty sure my Cebu-based colleagues from the #CBCTravelNation were so looking forward to having their first meal with rice that day, except maybe for Naomi who is a Mexican-American. I did mention in a previous post that Filipinos are big rice eaters. Tuna Garden Salad was served as appetizers. I surprisingly skipped the salad meal, or maybe I was just anticipating having the rice meals too soon. The bloggers ordered different beverages as well, mainly fruit shakes and calamansi juice.

Texas Pork Ribs at Sun Café

Texas Pork Ribs was the house specialty at Sun Café, tender pork meat with a glaze that is mainly sweet but with a hint of sour. This is my kind of ribs. This comes with a cup of rice and tomato salsa. I'm no fan of sesame seeds but I didn't even notice that it had sesame seeds until I reviewed the photos I took. The serving size is not bad too! This is now my go to ribs place every time I visit Bohol.

Also served was Chicken Cordon Bleu, melted cheese and ham rolled in tenderized chicken and kneaded in egg and flour batter and coated in breadcrumbs. It was cooked just right, the breadcrumbs turned to golden brown with just the right amount of crispy.

For dessert, we were served mango pandan in sweet cream. Well, I'm not hard to please with anything sweet.
